WHAT IS 1924US?

To create a faceless community. To appreciate the ages before us. To create an extension of ourselves. 1924 was developed as an outlet for creativity during christian watson's first year in architecture school, out of it a garden grew from a single seed. The idea for this brand is to make sure that historical pieces are survived by us, found in rough conditions and restored to a place where they can be thoroughly appreciated. Our goal is to support our community, which is every community, regardless of political belief, religious ideals, sexual preference, etc. History affects all of us in grave and miraculous ways. 



WHAT DOES 1924US DO?

We are a design agency that specializes in the antiquated methods of developing brands, identities, packaging and logo marks. We also have several other ongoing projects that all relate back to our heritage: from photography and writing books, to developing products and collecting antiques. 1924us focuses on completing the entire package of inspiration for anyone who views our work from an outside, or inside, perspective. With our main driving force being design, we are able to consider ourselves journeymen of everything we do - never the master, but always willing to learn in order to better not only our own experience, but the lives of others as well.

 

HOW DOES A PREORDER WORK?

Preorders offer an option for you the buyer to purchase a good at a more affordable cost in exchange for a longer wait time on the product. This is typical for items that are pending development. Our preorders have a 100% successful fund rate and are always developed. If for whatever reason the preorders cannot be produced, you will be refunded no questions asked. The longer you wait the more affordable the product, as the price increases incrementally as development of the product nears completion. As soon as the product is finished, we send out your order with the typical fulfilment, tracking and email. During the process of the product development we also send out emails with updates as to how the stages of production are proceeding. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns about your preorder, let us know! A preorder will always state in the title or description the estimated wait time for completion.

WHAT IS A PRESET?

A preset is a photography tool used for editing. We make these little tools as way to help share a bit of our creative process with those interested in our own editing and coloring and lighting techniques when it comes to our photography. These can be installed using adobe lightroom cc or later which can be found on adobe.com. They also make a mobile version that will work as well.



WHERE DO YOU SOURCE YOUR MATERIALS?

All materials are gathered over our travels. Antique shops, gifts, found objects, etc. We work very hard to source ethically made goods, salvaged from years as old as the 1500's to modern day makers. We want the best of the best, no matter how worthless it might seem. We are believers in potential.



WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY ON MADE TO ORDER ITEMS?

Made to order items, such as rings or hats, take us a considerable amount of time to make or source, and these have a base period of time for creation that can take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to make. Shipping from the country of origin to our country (australia) then to the customer can take some time, so we ask to allow for considerable space between dates needed for items, such as special events like birthdays, weddings or proposals. We work with local crafters or people we trust to create the best possible work, we have a rigorous quality control process that is included in this timeline to allow for the corrections of imperfections we find unacceptable in work, so that we can provide always the best possible experience.

Where are your products made?

While most of our products are produced in many parts of the world, including Australia, America, Europe and India, we have also begun to work closely with small teams in Zhejiang! We’re rebranding “made overseas”, specifically “made in China” and the task of the stereotype. For years it has been a common belief that many things made in Easterly countries are of poor quality and poor ethical standards. In recent years, that has come to change quite dramatically. For us, we have begun to work very intimately with a small made-by-hand factory in Zhejiang who produce all of our clothing and are friends of our family. Residing in the fabric capitol of the world, our team has access to the highest quality, ethically sourced fabrics, and fair-trade manufacturing that we are unable to source locally. For two years we have developed, with the highest scrutiny, an appreciation for the work ethic and shared belief with our friends in Zhejiang, and abroad. Because of this, we understand there is a risk to be taken, and we swear by our process, so much so that we guarantee all of our legacy clothing for life. Meaning, if you have any problems with the make of your product, send it back to us and we will repair or replace your piece absolutely free. Exactly as it reads, we stand by 100% all of our products and if there is ever a fault in the product, ship it back to us and we will replace and reship it for free.
Our clothing is the same, should any issue arise over the course of normal wear and tear where a piece becomes faulty not due to any fault of your own, we stand by the same message, ship it back to us and we will replace and reship it for free.

Covid notes

All orders are still shipping regularly, Covid has only negatively impacted customs processing times. We do not have control over what is prioritised at customs, and due to Covid we have been experiencing longer wait times thAn usual. If you have any inquiries before hand, please let us know and we will accommodate you! Even still in 2022, this is a common occurrence.

FREE SHIPPING

When you spend over $150USD on the website (before shipping) we offer free standard shipping. This doesn not include express shipping.

How long does my order take to ship out and arrive?

From the date you place your order, we try our best to send out orders daily, meaning your order should ship within 1-3 days of the order placed. Unless you have ordered a pre-order item, the order will ship once the pre-order is available.

Depending on where you are in the world, and which form of shipping you’ve selected, it can take anywhere from 5 days to 2 weeks. All orders (unless they are books) are shipped from Australia, which is a far stretch from most countries. We use Australia Post to ship all of our orders.

auspost - flatrate - worldwide - 6 TO 10 DAYS - $15

This option is great for those who are not in a rush, as this method of shipping includes full tracking and usually takes around 7 days depending on where you are located. Typically within 3 days of leaving our shop, it will leave the country, from there it will travel by air to your local courier based on your country. We have a very high success rate of delivery for this option, please note that deliveries to rural areas outside of greater cities can take extra time.

Auspost - flatrate - worldWIDE - express 5-7 day - $25

This option is mainly for usa customers only as it is the largest volume of our current market. This includes full tracking, and has a guaranteed delivery of within 7 business days of shipment along with tracking. This is a great option for those who want to get their packages a bit quicker. For international orders using this option, it can take up to a week longer, but includes tracking.

AUSPOST - PROTECTED - WORLDWIDE - 6 to 10 DAYS - $18 + $0.50 per item in the order

This option offers a FULL IMMEDIATE RESHIP of the order with no questions asked. We want to make sure every customer order is fully protected and we do the very best we can to track and provide full information for all orders. With Protection, you pay a little bit more on the order but are fully covered in the event of any mishap. Your reshipped order will also have protection in the event of a loss or stolen order.

where's my package? 

With all orders placed, a tracking number will be attached with your product. Don't worry, it's on its way to your home. If you didn't get your order, please write to us: info@1924.us

All parcels will be sent either priority mail or ground depending on your location. If your particular order is of a large size or particularly heavy in weight we may contact you to receive additional payment for shipping method.

are you amazon prime?

Unfortunately, no. So please, understand we are a small business and do our honest best to make sure you receive your goods in a timely manner as well as in a sustainable one. We use e-commerce and pay for our carbon offset to make sure that we are doing our part in making the world a greener one. We are run by a very small team of few members but work hard to make sure everyone is satisfied with their product!

my parcel arrived and i have to pay a customs tax, why is that?

Every country is unique in their customs processing procedure, some require businesses to declare the cost of goods sold. Depending on where you live, you may have to pay a small import tax to receive your goods and this is left up to the customer to pay. If you do not pay the customs tax after receiving notice of it, they will hold your goods as is standard for up to 30 days for you to claim. If you do not claim the parcel in that time, it will be returned to us, at which time you will be refunded for the cost of goods minus the cost of shipping.


local laws and customs package withheld:

Every country has specific laws to what they allow for import; some of the items we collect and make, including different types of wood antiquities, taxidermy, health material, replica weapons, tobacciana, and knives, are subject to local, regional and international standards of laws. In some instances, knives are not considered tools but weapons and will be withheld at customs. If these items are confiscated and not returned to us they will be assumed lost and responsibility will lay with the buyer. Please be aware of your local laws before purchasing from our shop.

WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?

We do not offer refunds on digital goods, custom made pieces, or any unclaimed mail that has been returned (excluding medical or other extenuating circumstances)

We work hard truly to offer the best possible service and want to be sure that you are taken care of in any event, we will work our best to reach a solution.

For new products like t-shirts, supplies, etc. If you are not happy with your order for whatever reason, we'll be happy to offer you a refund within 14 days of it's arrival to you, please return it to us (at your own cost) to our flagship location at:

Once the returned parcel has arrived at our flagship we will issue an exchange/refund/store credit depending on your request minus the cost of shipping. We do not offer refunds on orders older then 14 days (from the date of arrival to you) we can however offer you store credit for the order minus the cost of shipping. We always recommend getting a tracking number and insurance for all returned parcels as we are not responsible for any lost or damaged returned parcels.

Please note: the customer is responsible to cover all shipping costs for exchanges and refunds unless the item has arrived faulty.

Help! I ordered the wrong size/colour by accident and need to change it!

No worries, we can get you taken care of! Our system doesn’t allow edits to processed orders, so if you just put through your order and decided that the size / colour etc. is not the one you were after, simply place a new order with the correct one and send us an email to info@1924.us asking to refund your previous order; please include your order no. and product you are discarding and we'll get the old order refunded immediately.

I'm buying this as a gift, can you make it extra pretty and/or write a personalized note?

We're working to add gift-wrapping/notes as an option! We are happy to dedicate a little more time to ensure your gift will be well-presented, however at the moment we can't add extra gift wrapping/boxes/notes etc.

I'm buying this as a gift, can you mark the prices down on the shipping label?

Unfortunately not. As a company it's illegal for us to do so on any commercial order we pay taxes on.
